10/16/13 — Billie Beatrice Douglas Parsons, 88, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born June 6, 1925, in Carter County, a daughter of the late William and Ralpha Wilson Douglas.
Billie was retired from Cowden’s Sewing Factory and loved quilting, gardening and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Clarence Parsons; one daughter, Diana Martin; one brother, Bob Douglas; and one sister, Betty Douglas.
Billie is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Carl and Phyllis Parsons, Roger and Tina Parsons and Rocky Parsons and companion, Bambi Waugh, all of Olive Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, Reatha and James Henderson of Big Sandy, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Jackson of Muncie, Ind., and Doris and John Osborne of Elyria, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Clyde Holbrook and Brother Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery on Dry Branch in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Billie’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
