02/11/13 — Mr. Billie Ivan Burton, 73, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2013, at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Carter County, a son of the late Edwin "Chig" and Emojean Erwin Burton.
Billie was a retired co-owner and cook of a family business, Burton’s Drive Inn for 38 years and attended First Baptist Church in Olive Hill. He enjoyed farming, horse trading, hunting, NASCAR, watching westerns and talking politics at the Drive Inn. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Dora Edith and Sam Duvall.
Billie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Lewis Burton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Margaret Burton and Mark and Linda Burton, all of Olive Hill; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jackie) Burton, Willie (Kendra) Burton, MaKendra Burton and Cora Burton; two great grandchildren, Kaylie Burton and Emily Burton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip and Linda Burton and Lowell Gene and Wanda Burton, all of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Troy Roark and Brother Paul Zornes officiating. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery on Route 1025 in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, and until the service Wednesday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Gary Duvall, Randy Burton, Brian Burton, Brandon Burton, Nicky Burton and Jeremy Burton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Burton and Willie Burton.
