03/12/13 — Mr. Michael Lee Mauk, 60, of Lexington, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 21, 1953, in Carter County, a son of Juanita Henderson Mauk of Olive Hill and the late Charles Manuel Mauk.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed painter.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Mauk and Keith Mauk.
Besides his mother, Michael is survived by two sons, Michael Mauk and Nathan Mauk, both of Illinois; one daughter, Tammy Mauk of Illinois; three stepsons, Terry Mauk, Donnie Mauk and Matthew Mauk, all of Illinois; 17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Martha Sue Mauk of Grayson, Ricky and Linda Mauk of Olive Hill and Jeffery and Robin Mauk of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Mark Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Phillip Mauk, John Mauk, John Stegall, Brian Mauk, Kalen Morgan and Jim Tackett will serve as pallbearers.
