02/17/14 — James Edward "Jim" Osborne, 72, of Olive Hill, entered into rest Sunday morning, Feb. 16, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland after an extended illness.
He was born March 1, 1941, in Lawton, a son of the late Lan and Bertha Davis Osborne.
Jim was a former construction welder and mechanic. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and spending time in his shop. He was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sibling; one brother, Lan Osborne Jr.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Osborne Collins and Dothel Collins.
James is survived by two daughters, Robyn Osborne (Rondall) Williams of Morehead and Cheryl Osborne Sawyers of Olive Hill; two grandsons, Derek Kent Williams of Morehead and Nathan Blake Fultz of Olive Hill; his special friend and care giver, Kathy Erwin; a nephew, Michael (Sharon) Collins of Columbus, Ind.; and a dear cousin, Arthur Ray (Debbie) Oney of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other extended family members and friends who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Archer-Osborne Cemetery in Lawton.
Friends may visit from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KeY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
