11/25/13 — Michael Stephen “Steve” Johnson, 57, of Mocabee Creek Road, Olive Hill, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his residence.
Born Oct. 31, 1956, in Grayson, he was a son of the late Delbert and Betty June Binion Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Billy Kyle McKinney.
Steve is survived by his wife, Alice Lands Johnson, whom he married March 2, 1979; two daughters, Kerri Johnson (Kevin) Parker of Morehead and Kayla Johnson and companion Isaac Vargas Antonio of Greenup; and three grandchildren, Madison Parker, Dylan Simmons and Alexis Parker.
Also surviving are four brothers, Ray (Pam) Johnson of Belleville, Ohio, David (June) Johnson of Mexico Beach, Fla., Jerry (Diedra) Johnson of Morehead and Billy (Marilyn) Johnson of Olive Hill; two sisters, Lisa (Bobby) Tackett of Olive Hill and Betsy (Dave) McKinney of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was a brick mason for the Rising Sun Development in Lexington and enjoyed golf, basketball, fishing and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with Brother Gary Madden officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Soldier.
Pallbearers will be David Lands, John Lands, George Lands, Roy Lands, Sam Lands, Andy Lands and Dylan Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Ray, David, Jerry and Billy Johnson; brothers-in-law; and grandchildren, Madison Parker, Dylan Simmons and Alexis Parker.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
