02/19/13 — Mrs. Mary Charlene Lunsford Carpenter, 63, of Nicholasville, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2013, in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born April 7, 1949, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Cecil and Madge Abbott Lunsford.
Mary was a member of Faith United Community Church in Nicholasville and was a retired store manager. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Lunsford Jr. and Paul Earl Lunsford; and six sisters, Louise Madden, Beatrice Abbott, Lillian Abbott, Lucille Parker, Jenny Stone and Hazel Logan.
Mary is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rick and Jennifer Carpenter and Don and Taunya Carpenter, all of Olive Hill, and Jack Carpenter of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Lunsford of Lexington; and a special friend, James Brafford of Nicholasville. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Mark Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Junior O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
There will also be a visitation at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.
