01/06/14 — Beulah Kiser Tilsley, 94, of Flatwoods, formerly of Grayson, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the Oakmont Manor Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Carter City, a daughter of the late Wallie Jacob and Matilda McGinnis Kiser.
She was a housewife and mother, a longtime member of the Barrett’s Creek Baptist Church and a current member of the First Baptist Church of Greenup.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Tilsley; a son, Autrey; her stepmother, Pearlie Parker Kiser; five brothers, Marvin, Russell, Everett(Pete), Raymond and Cecil Kiser; three sisters, Thelma(May) Fulk, Elise Ruth Kiser and Joyce Katherine Kiser; a grandson, Steve Johnson; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Joy Jonson of Jackson, Tenn.; five sons, Bill Tilsley of Lexington, Jim(Joyce) Tilsley of Greenup, Fred(Margaret) Tilsley of Berea, Raymond Douglas (Margaret) of Grayson and Howard Bruce (Francis) Tilsley of Olive Hill; two brothers, Ottis Kiser of Carter City and Frank Kiser of Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters, Gracie Potter of Grayson and Dottie Collins of McDowell; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Barrett’s Creek Baptist Church near Grayson by Tom Melvin, minister. Burial will follow in the Tilsley Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and granddaughters-in-law.
Arrangements were made by the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
