12/17/13 — James Nunley, 70, of Grayson, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born May 6, 1943, on Wilson Creek, a son of the late Hartford and Nancy Brown Nunley. He was a laborer at Kentucky Electric Steel for 33 years. He was a member of the Grayson Church of God.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Hartford Jr., and Donald Nunley; and four sisters, Geneva Deal, Virginia Halterman, Beverly Messmer and Joann Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Bradford Nunley; four sons, Glen Sheldon (Ruth) Jenkins, Robert Eric (Kelly) Nunley and Jeff (Mary) Nunley, all of Grayson, and Michael Nunley of Westwood; three daughters, Lisa Rae (George) Groves of Catlettsburg, Regina Shephard (Jim Burton) of Grayson and Jami (Rick) Sexton of Willard; a brother, Phillip (Lydia) Nunley of Rush; two sisters, Doris (Marshall) Barr of Argillite and Evelyn Warden of Springfield, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friends, Zeldon and the late Artha Lee McCarty and family; and a special nephew, Donnie L. Nunley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Danny Kelly, minister. Burial will follow in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Holt, Brandon Nunley, Eric Nunley, Jim Burton, Leslie Mulkey and Donnie Nunley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the Sparks Funeral Home.
