04-19-12 — Ralph Suttles, 86, of Smith Branch, passed away at his residence Tuesday, December 04, 2012. He was born January 13, 1926, in Carter County, the son of the late Samuel and Louisa Swanagan Suttles. 

Ralph was a self-employed contractor and owned Suttles Heating and Plumbing.

He was of the Baptist faith, a United States Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post No. 342, and VFW Post No. 3705. 

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife Lillie Jacobs Colegrove Suttles; two sisters, Mary Alice Albright and Minnie Prichard; and one brother, James Suttles.

Ralph is survived by five sons, Charles (Lorilie) Suttles of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Samuel E. Suttles, Mike (Peggy) Suttles, Kevin (Kathy) Suttles, and Randy (Mary Jane) Suttles, all of Grayson; two daughters, Karen (Gary) Waugh and Brenda (Terry) Griffith, all of Grayson; two sisters, Annabelle Hall of Sandy Hook and Carolyn Fraley of Grayson; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 8, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Paul Schmidt officiating. He will be entombed at East Carter County Memory Gardens with military rites performed by East Carter JR. ROTC. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 7, at the funeral home.
