8/12/13 — Charles Dewey "Jimmy" Bond Jr., 89, of Danville, formerly of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at 2:05 a.m. at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville after an extended illness.
Mr. Bond was born May 26, 1924, in Hitchens, to the late Charles Dewey Bond Sr. and Armentha Wilburn Bond.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Shirrell, and Billy Bond.
Mr. Bond served the Lord as a minister in the Dearlodge, Tenn., community, and was in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff in Morgan County, Tenn.
Surviving are his wife, Mona Smith Bond of Danville; daughters, Jeanette (David) Jones of Lexington and Betty Hughes of Vanceburg; one sister, Colleen (Lovell) Collins of Culloden, W.Va.;
several grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren to mourn his passing.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Rose Hill Burial Park Ashland with Pastor Wes Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
