04/22/13 — Mr. Ora Stanley Carroll, 85, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, April 19, 2013, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.

He was born Sept.10, 1927, in Grahn, a son of the late Oscar and Nancy Ellen Parson Carroll.

Ora was a member of the Grahn Hill Freewill Baptist Church and a retired car man from C&O Railroad. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosie Ester Bledsoe Carroll; his second wife, Francis Sue Sturgill Carroll; three brothers, Roy Carroll, Troy Carroll and Ray Carroll; and two sisters, Cathlene Grizzell and Nixola Issac.

Ora is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Wanda Carroll of Iva, S.C., and Rick and Cheri Blevins of Olive Hill; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene Hope Knipp of Flatwoods, Sharon McDavid, Rita Carroll, Pam and Ralph Nutter, all of Petersburg, Ind., Linda Mabry of Saint Marys, Ohio, Amber Jewell Carroll of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Sherry and Owen Phillips of Grayson; 21grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one brother, Ercel Carroll of Flatwoods; and one sister, Christine Mosier of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Jimmy Barker and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge in Olive Hill with full military rites conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, and until the service hour Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Erwin Glispie, Jacob Glispie, Scott Glispie, Jeff Mabry, Mike Bryant and Mickey Mosier will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Roe and Donnie Parker.
