10/2/13 — Thomas Edward VanHorn, 51, of Olive Hill, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born Jan. 2, 1962, in Baltimore, Md., a son of Dorothy Irene Romine VanHorn of Olive Hill and the late George VanHorn.
Thomas was of the Christian faith and was a retired truck driver for the IBEW Local No. 317 in Huntington, W.Va. He enjoyed playing music, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Thomas is survived by three daughters, Cylenna Bryant and husband Tony of Olive Hill, Becky VanHorn and fiancé Kenny Stephens of Plymouth, Ohio, and Tammy VanHorn of Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one sister, Terry Gordan of El Paso, Texas; and his companion, Karla Lewis. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in the VanHorn Family Cemetery on Open Fork Road in Elliott County.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
