Anna Ruth Oney Webb

9/30/13 — Anna Ruth (Oney) Webb, 75, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Arvil and Alpha Tackett Oney.

Ruth was of the Christian faith and attended the Owingsville First Church of God. She retired from teaching in the Crestline, Ohio, School District and continued to teach in Carter County schools and Rowan County Christian schools after moving back to Olive Hill. Ruth enjoyed teaching, traveling and reading Christian literature and loved homemaking, providing meals and shelter for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Oney Carter.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 58 years, Randall Webb; three children and their spouses, Elaine and Lowell Rice of Owingsville, Keith and Martha Webb of Mansfield, Ohio, and Rhonda and Dennis Kilgore of Willard, Ohio; six grandchildren, Caleb Forrester (Lisa), Jessica Kilgore Strohm (Tony), LeAnne Webb, Jenna Kilgore Hughes (Aaron), Amber Webb and Sarah Caudill; two great-grandchildren, Lorelei Hughes and Ryan Hughes; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Farris Oney, Everett and Jean Oney and Denver and Shirley Oney, all of Olive Hill; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carolyn Oney of Olive Hill, Wanda and Earnest Davis of West Virginia and Mary and Ramah McKenzie of Ypsilanti, Mich. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Globe Christian Church, US Highway 60 West of Olive Hill, with Brother David Rayburn, Brother Paul Webb, the Rev. Lowell Rice and Brother Johnny Erwin officiating. Burial followed in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery on Blueberry Ridge in Olive Hill.

Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill was in charge of arrangements.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Contributions in Anna Ruth’s name to the Ashland Community Hospice Center or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
