3/04/14 — Wilma Jean Davis Moreland, 83, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ruby Rose Davis.
Wilma was a member of the Gregoryville Christian Holiness Church and a homemaker. She loved reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Deward Moreland Jr.; one son, Danny Moreland; three brothers, Frank Galligher, Dexter Davis and William Ralph Davis; one sister, Patsy Davis; and one stepsister, Vada Sue Johnson.
Wilma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Manuel and Tammy Moreland of Grahn; one daughter, Diana Moreland of Grahn; seven grandchildren, Paula Moreland Kouns, Donita Shaffer, Bonita Johnson, Susan Moreland Novak, Jason Moreland, Danielle Moreland and Crystal Waugh; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Burnis Galligher of Hallsville, Mo.; and one stepsister, Bonnie Pierce of Lexington. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill with Brother Lewis Davis and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, and until the service hour Friday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Matthew Kouns, Chad Vanlandingham, Brad Vanlandingham, Joe Moreland, Jeff Wellman, Ardie Johnson and Steven Young will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Chapman, Ray Stevens, Mike James, Tom McGuire and Steve Burchett.
