02/03/14 — Helen M. "Sue" Stamper Owens, 68, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at her daughter’s residence in Mansfield.
She was born March 12, 1945, in Olive Hill, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Rosa Reynolds Stamper.
Helen was a very hard working, strong woman who was always a fighter. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. Helen retired from Kroger in 2007.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Allen Owens; two brothers, the Rev. Coy Allen Stamper and Earl Leo Stamper; a sister-in-law, Dixie Stamper; and a nephew, Joel Stamper.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Garnetta Owens and Patty (Jerry) Middleton, both of Mansfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Felecia (Ryan) Rusiska, Ashley Burriss, Brandon (Stephanie Taylor) Middleton, Seth Burriss, Logan Middleton and Sara, Alyssa and Faith West; two great-grandchildren, Bentley Edwards and Elyn Rusiska; three brothers, Quentis (Janet) Stamper of Lucas, Ohio, Homer (Patricia) Stamper of Olive Hill and Larry (Carla) Stamper of Olive Hill; a sister-in-law, Cleda Stamper; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Denvil Hedge.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Terry Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery on Bethel Ridge in Olive Hill.
Friends visited from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, and until the service hour Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
