July 8, 2014 — Richard Gene Mullins, 70, of Sandy Hook, died from injuries suffered from an automobile accident on Monday, June 7, 2014.
He was born July 31, 1943 in Grayson, a son of the late Allard and Carrie Clevenger Mullins. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, worked from a laborer local, member of the Grayson VFW and the Willard and Olive Hill American Legions.
He was preceded in death by one brother Jim Mullins, one sister Betty Grizzell, four brother-in-laws Ray Grizzell, Calvin Jackson, Lacy Jackson and Dale Coburn. He is survived by a son Damean Richard Mullins of Lexington; one daughter Anna (Brian) Bayes of Grayson; one grandson Christian Bayes and a granddaughter on the way Ava; former wife Susan “Suji” Mullins; ten sisters Geraldine (Orville) Sagraves of Denton, Loretta Jo Jackson of Elizabethtown, Ruie Jackson of Grayson, Helen (Clinton) Stapleton of Grayson, Faye Coburn of Flatwoods, Mary Maude (Joe) Blevins of Grayson, Rita (Mike Cains) Shaffer of Grayson, Debbie (Jim) Hallman, Jennie (Walter) Sammons of Grayson and Jewell Marie (John) McDavid of Grayson; three brothers Lindsey (Caroline) Mullins of Grove City OH, Allen (Irene) Mullins of Rush and Charles Timothy Mullins of Grayson; Sister-in-law Carol Mullins of Columbus OH; 40 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday 1:00 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Ed McKinney and Bro. Herbie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the KY Veterans Cemetery North East.
