July 8, 2014 — Gayle Forrest Carter, 79, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence.
He was born March 31, 1935 of Grayson a son of the late Frank “Tom” Thompson and Ida Mae Kimbler Carter.
Gayle was retired from Armco Steel, proprietor of Carter’s Mobile Homes and was a farmer. He was a member of the Barretts Creek Church, Frostproof Lodge F. & A.M. #229, Scottish Rite of Covington and El Hasa Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Lucille Wilburn Carter in 1984, a son, Frank Thompson “Tommy” Carter II, brothers; Darrell, Earl, Carl and Sammy Carter and sisters, Maxine Osborne and Jewell Prichard.
His survivors include: daughter, Lisa Carter (Lee) Stephens; son, Mike Carter; brother, Phillip (Denise) Carter; daughter-in-law, Barb Carter; grandchildren, Frank Thompson (Kim) Carter III, Ryan Carter, Nathan Carter, Aaron Carter, Robyn Carter (Dean) Mays, Tiffany Grimmett and Chelsey Burton; great grandchildren, Matthew Carter, Ariel Fannin, Dylan Carter, Braxton Mays and Shay Carter; sisters-in-law, Helen Lemaster, Pat Carter and Louise Carter; his beloved dog, Bell. He will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and family. He will be laid to rest by his nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Clell Lucas, minister. Burial will be in the Grayson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, July 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday after 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Malone Funeral Home.
