June 2, 2014 — Mrs. Ada Catron Bond, age 92, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2014, at her residence.
She was born October 3, 1921, in Carter County, a daughter of the late George and Pearl Mabry Catron.
Ada was a homemaker and enjoyed visiting with people, working in her flowers, and quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Clayton Bond; one infant son, Donald Bond; three brothers, Willard Catron, Ray Catron, and Austin Catron; and two sisters, Betty Jean Catron and Eddith Sparks.
Ada is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Donrita Bond of Olive Hill, Freddie Allen and Shirley Bond of Versailles, Joe E and Rita Bond of Olive Hill, and J C and Lucy Bond of Olive Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mitzie and Danny Tabor of Olive Hill, and Betty Lane and Paul Smith of Versailles; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Catron of Mansfield, Ohio, and Garner Catron of Olive Hill; and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Velma and George Stamper of Olive Hill, Etta Florence Jones of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and Virginia Caudill of Mansfield, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Allen Underwood and Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Bond Family Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, and until the service hour on Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Ada’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
