June 2, 2014 — Mr. Jeffery Lynn Jarvis, age 49, of Dalton, Georgia, formerly of Grayson, passed away Friday afternoon, May 30, 2014, in the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia.
He was born April 24, 1965, in Blue Island, Illinois, a son of James Frank and Thelma Mae Greer Jarvis of Olive Hill.
Jeffery was of the Baptist faith and was a graduate of East Carter High School. He was employed by Shaw Carpet Industries in Dalton, Georgia. Jeffery enjoyed fishing, going to car shows, going to Pigeon Forge, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Earl "Jamie" Jarvis.
In addition to his parents, Jeffery is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Romans Jarvis; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Eric and Sabrina Jarvis of Dalton, Georgia, and Tommy Lee Jarvis of Dalton, Georgia; one three year old granddaughter who was his pride and joy, Chloe Nikkole Jarvis; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Jeff Ransom of Middlesex, North Carolina, Bonnie and David Bawcum of Olive Hill, and Cindy and David Keith Jones of Hitchins. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Matt Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Wells-Jarvis Cemetery on Three Pine in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
