04-19-12 — Mrs. Karen Kaye "Poochie" Bond Fannin, 56, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, December 7, 2012, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born March 29, 1956, in Carter County, a daughter of the late "Basel "Chig" and Ada Burchett Bond.
Poochie was a member of the Iron Hill Church of Christ and was retired from the Carter County Board of Education, where she worked at Carter Elementary School. She enjoyed going to church, working puzzles and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Bond and Jimmy Bond.
Poochie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joseph Dale Fannin; two daughters, Amanda Kaye Fannin and Melissa Dawn Fannin and her fiancé Bryan Conn, all of Olive Hill; one brother, Gary Bond of Olive Hill; one sister, Carolyn Sue Underwood of Olive Hill; one sister-in-law, Cozetta Bond of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Pastor Bobby Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery on Ky. 2 in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, and until the service Sunday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
