04-19-12 — Mr. Ted Hershel Blankenship, 73, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday evening, November 26, 2012, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born December 27, 1938, in Carter County, a son of Laura Rice Blankenship Bego of Soldier, and the late Charles Madison Blankenship.
Ted attended the Bowen Chapel Church. He enjoyed going to church, preaching on the radio and nursing homes until his sickness.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Blankenship; four brothers, Charles Blankenship Jr., Vernon Blankenship, Bill Blankenship and Kenneth Blankenship; and also his step father, Alfred Bego.
In addition to his mother, Ted is survived by his wife, Betty Blankenship; and one sister and brother in-law, Donna and Donny Owens of Olive Hill. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Rex Seagraves and Brother Dale Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Rice Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, and until the service hour Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
