04-19-12 — Anna Louise Womack Yates, 59 of Foreston, Minn., formerly of Grayson, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
Ann was born in Grayson to the late Ellis “Eck” Womack and the late Hazel (Buck) Womack, on January 15, 1953, the youngest of five children.
She graduated from Prichard High School in 1971 and continued her education at Morehead State University and Clark County vocational school where she studied business.
Ann was previously married to CSM Ronnie Yates (Ret.) of Sandy Hook for over 20 years and moved with the military. While living in Germany, Ann worked in the medical field that she loved and was able to travel to many countries with her family. She expanded her well known skills as a great cook and baker.
After moving to Minnesota in the late 1990s, she continued her work in the medical field until finding the beauty of life on a farm with her fiancé, William “Bill” Evans of Foreston, Minn. She was known well for her kind heart, generous spirit and love of all animals. She especially loved to spoil her cats and always fed animals that wandered onto the farm. On occasion she had been found feeding a mother mouse in the barn.
Ann is survived by her loving family and loyal friends who include Bill Evans of Foreston, Minn.; daughter, Tara Yates (Glen) Gosse of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two brothers, George Womack and Carl (Betty) Womack, both of Grayson; sister-in-law, Alicia Womack of Mattoon, Ill.; maternal aunt, Blanche Conley of Grayson; four granddaughters, Kelly Gosse, Ashlee Gosse, Emily Gosse and Kristena Gosse; one great granddaughter, Savannah Maskovyak, all of Murfreesboro; two nephews, LTC Carl (Misty)Womack (Ret.) of Salado, Texas, and Chandler Womack of Mattoon, Ill.; and four nieces, Vicki Womack (Mark) Westergard of St. Petersburg, Fla., Cynthia Womack (Neil)Brown of Fillmore, Ill., Dr. Lenore Womack (Henry) Wright of Waco, Texas, and Alison Womack of Mattoon, Ill. She also leaves seven great nieces and nephews, many other cousins, extended family members, neighbors and friends that will truly miss her.
