June 25, 2014 — Luster Cassity age 81 formerly of Elliott County, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at the residence of his daughter in Olive Hill.
Mr. Cassity was born April 25, 1933 in Elliott County, a son of the late David Lee and Bessie Eddie Moore Cassity.
Luster was a Farmer and of the Christian faith, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife; Dorothy Williams Cassity, one daughter; Linda Lou Caskey, and one brother; Lenzil Dale Cassity.
He is survived by his children, their spouses and companions; from his first marriage; Luster Wayne Cassity of Maysville, Regina Elaine Keeton and Raymond Wheeler of Elk Fork, Karen and Mike Tackett, Evelyn Joyce Cassity, and Mary Lou Cassity and Donald Dotson all of Paintsville; from his second marriage; Elwood Scott and Laura Cantrell of Morehead, Crystal and Tim Sargent of Morehead, Cindy Moore and Bob Weaver of Clearfield, Jessica and James Wallace of Morehead , Yvonnie and Bobby Vernatter of Olive Hill , Sally Caskey of Clearfield, and Rebecca Eddie and Dewayne Weaver of Flemingsburg. One brother; Albert J. Cassity, two sisters; Mary Lee Cassity, and Betty Lou Burns all of Portsmouth, Ohio. 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Along with a host of extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Tuesday, July 01, 2014 at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, with Bro. Larry Dale Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m Monday, June30, 2014 and after 9:00 a.m Tuesday at the funeral home.
Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
