July 11, 2014 — Mr. Clifford "Buddy" Rose, age 82, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday evening, July 8, 2014, at his residence.
He was born September 9, 1931, in Lewis County, a son of the late Harlen and Dovie Rose.
Buddy was a self employed logger and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Rayburn, and two sisters, Eva Rose and Irene Gilliam.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise Gilliam Rose; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Lisa Rose of Olive Hill, and Ricky Rose of Vanceburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Scott Stacy of Emerson, Susie and Bobby Littleton of Vanceburg, and Patricia and Mike Lowe of Grayson; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Rose of Morehead, and James Rose of Mansfield, Ohio; and two sisters, Ollie Mae Rose of Columbus, Ohio, and Ithel Thurman of Bucyrus, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Graveside services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Rose Family Cemetery in Lewis County, with Brother Dale Richmond officiating.
Larry Rose, Ricky Rose, Bo Thompson, James Rose, Clinton Rose, and Scott Stacy will serve as pallbearers. Marty Richmond and Tim Lawhorn will serve as honorary pallbearers.
