Bennie Ray Webb Sr.


7/31/13 — Bennie Ray Webb Sr., 64, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 24, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of the late Willie and Lillian Keaton Webb.

Bennie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict as an M-60 gunner. He was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leroy Webb, Billy Joe Webb, Randy Webb, George Anderson Webb and Walter Webb, and two sisters, Linda Wright and Patricia Ann Webb.

Bennie is survived by his wife of 11 years, Johnnie Sue Carter Webb; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bennie Ray Webb Jr. and Christina of Greenup County and Joseph Daniel Webb of Olive Hill; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Dana Binion Adams and Kevin of Georgetown and Tina Binion DeBord and Eric of Olive Hill; eight grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonnie and Rita Webb of Salt Lick, Donnie and Tiawatha Webb of Carlisle and Larry and Nioka Webb of Olive Hill; and one sister, Marcella Barnett of Mansfield, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Pastor Rick Crank and the Rev. Mitchell Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County with full military honors conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Bennie Webb Jr., Joseph Webb, Lonnie Webb, Garrett Webb, Eric DeBord and Jim Short will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Webb, Matthew Webb and Kevin Brierley.
