01/18/13 — Mrs. Evelyn King Newman, 79, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2013, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Fred R. and Nada Hall King.
Evelyn was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed quilting and the outdoors. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Leonard Newman; one son, Lanny Newman; one brother, Walter Estill King; and two sisters, Myrtle King and Jennifer King.
Evelyn is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Delores Newman of Olive Hill and Michael and Wanda Newman of Versailles; two grandchildren, J. D. Newman and Emily Newman, both of Olive Hill; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Fred King Jr. of Grayson, Leslie and Faye King of Grahn and Ronnie and Debbie King of Grayson; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Jack Barker of Raceland, Jewell and Roy Littleton of Baltimore, Ohio, and Linda and Junior Huffman of Linsey. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Jason Johnson and Brother Dewayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
J. D. Newman, Anthony Littleton, Jeff Littleton, Jason Huffman, Jerrod Huffman and Matthew King will serve as pallbearers.
