01/11/13 — Mrs. Anita Sue Maddix Carter, 46, of Soldier, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, 2013, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born April 8, 1966, in Rowan County, a daughter of Elizabeth Ann Smith Offill of Olive Hill and the late Billy Wayne Maddix.
Anita was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Anita loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Donald Wayne Carter, and one sister, Lacinda "Cindy" Musgrave.
Besides her mother, Anita is survived by one son, Donny Carter of Soldier; two daughters, Chassidy Carter and companion Darrell Logan of Soldier and Katie Katrina Carter and companion William Swanigan of Olive Hill; stepson, Bobby Carter of Sandy Hook; nine grandchildren, James Donald Carter, Landen Wayne Carter, Kayleigh Renee Carter, Braxton Miles Watson, Donavon Ray Messer, Tucker Wayne Logan, Cameron Lee Reeves, McKaitlyn Lynn Carter and Brianna LaDawn Swanigan; one brother, Kevin Maddix of Rockford, Ill.; and four sisters, Virginia Brown and husband Gary of Olive Hill, LeRae Maddix and companion Wayne Bradley of Olive Hill, Treena McDavid of Grayson and Tessa Pelfrey of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Carter Cemetery in Soldier with Brother Clifford Reeves officiating.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
