06/10/13 — O. Lee Gussler III, 64, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born June 23, 1948, son of Ova Lee (Joyce) Gussler Jr. of Ashland and the late Pearl Way Gussler.
Lee was a U.S. Army veteran having served a tour of duty in Vietnam as a lab tech and a second enlistment as an Army Chaplain. Lee was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville with a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry.
Lee was a retired minister of 12 years at Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Grayson. He retired as Hospice Chaplain in Spiritual Care in August of 2012 after 19 years of service.
Lee enjoyed woodworking and playing with electrical gadgets. He has been of faithful service to all of Carter County and surrounding counties since moving here in 1986. Lee served as president of the Carter County Ministerial Association and many years as president of Good Samaritans of Carter County Inc. He was known for his unwavering love and devotion to his family and his care for the many families he served.
Including his father, Lee is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra Keyes Gussler; a son, Jon (Micah) Gussler; a daughter, Kim G. Ellison, both of Winchester; the delights of his life, his five grandchildren, Mason Lee Gussler, Riley Michael Gussler, Alexandra Ellison, Jonathan Benett Gussler and Titus Ellison, all of Winchester; two sisters, Linda (David) Wolfe of Lexington and Teresa (Nick) Glancy of Versailles; his mother-in-law, Mary Keyes; and brother-in-law, Carl B. (Debbie) Keyes.
Including his mother, he was preceded in Heaven by a son-in-law, Stacy Ellison, and his father-in-law, Carl Keyes.
