04/14/14 — Arthur Marcum, 76, of Olive Hill, went to be with his Lord on April 11, 2014, at his residence following a long illness.
He was born May 4, 1937, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Aaron and Ruth Bowen Marcum.
He owned and operated Marcum Radio in Grayson many years and was known by the nickname “Short Circuit.” He attended college with a degree in electronics with several certifications in that field, held an Amateur Radio extra class license with call letters NK4M and also had a patent in design electronics in Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marcum in 1964, and sister, Verna “John” Jarrell.
His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Amy Roark Marcum; one daughter, Pamela (Habe Sr.) Bradford of Olive Hill; one grandson, Haeberle “Clint” (Jennifer) Bradford of Olive Hill; two sisters, Shella Faye “Chester” Abshire of New Albany, Ohio, and Irene “Wendell” Duty of Naugatuck, W.Va.; one brother, Lester “Betty” Marcum of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
