04-19-12 — Mr. Daniel Lee "Dan" Evans, 60, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday evening, October 20, 2012, in the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.

He was born December 18, 1951, in Carter County, a son of the late Nelson and Katherine Lee Johnson Evans.

Dan was a retired business owner and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Eugene Evans.

Dan is survived by one son and daughter in-law, Rodney Scott and Tracy Evans of Olive Hill; one daughter and son in-law, Rebecca Joan and Tracy McClain of Hillsboro; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry "Bo" and Shirley Evans of Mansfield, Ohio, and Grady and Bessie Evans and Mike and Gay Evans, all of Olive Hill; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan Sturgill of Morehead, and Susie and Brent Fultz of Olive Hill; 11 grandchildren, Lakyn Evans, Nelson Evans, Daniel Evans, Brittany Cochran, Lyla Evans, Rodney Evans, Jr, Trinity Evans, Tralyn Evans, Jaxen Evans, Kaleb McClain and Allison McClain; and one great granddaughter, Aubrey Bales. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Aileen Messer Evans of Hillsboro, and a special friend, Essie Tackett of Morehead, along with a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Clyde Holbrook and Brother Jackie Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012, and until the service hour at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Tracy McClain, Darrell Evans, Larry Knipp, Brent Fultz, Brady Evans and Grady Evans will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Stevens, Butch Stevens, Steve Stevens, Mitchell Stevens, Rodney Evans, Jr, Jaxen Evans, Tony Nolen and Danial Tackett.

Condolences may be sent to the family at
