June 11, 2014 — Ms. Phyllis Jean Easterling, age 73, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday afternoon, June 9, 2014, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born August 18, 1940, in Carter County, a daughter of the late John and Lucy Meade Easterling.
Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Top Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed cooking and eating meals with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Debord.
Phyllis is survived by five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Billy Easterling, Bobby and Rita Easterling, James Easterling, Gary and Phyllis Easterling, and Johnny Easterling, all of Olive Hill; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Opal and Odith Stevens, Genevene Bryant, Kate Hedge, Virginia Easterling, Joyce and Virgil Kilgore, and Judy and Herbert Conn, all of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bobby Buckler and Brother David Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Easterling-Debord Cemetery on Route 986 in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
