Margie Maxine Bellew Jones

June 2, 2014 — Margie Maxine Bellew Jones, 89 of Grayson, went home to meet her Lord Friday May 30, 2014 at Carter County Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness.

She was born Sept. 10, 1924 in Carter Co. a daughter of the late Bob and Hazel Bellew. She was a secretary at Right Paterson Air Force Base, Dayton Ohio for three years and waitress for several years. She was also member of the Women’s DAV Auxiliary for two years. She was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ for fifty six years serving as a Sunday School Teacher, youth leader, women’s group leader and choir member. She sang in a trio praising the Lord for about fifty years. Her main purpose in life was to tell others about Jesus.  She would always say “since we are all gather together lets just sing a song.”

      In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert (June), Glen, Jimmy and Johnny Bellew and two brother-in-laws, Claude Estep and Roy Gilbert.  She is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Winnie Jones of Grayson; one son Bob (Clara) Jones of Lapeer, MI;  one daughter :Tonda (Amon) Yates of Grayson; four grand-children Angie ( Kevin) LaBarge of  Lapeer, MI, Stacy Jones of Buckeye, AZ , Tony (Sylvia) Yates and Stephen (Krista) Yates both of Grayson; nine great grandchildren: Nicole McVety , Ryan, Devin and Nathan LaBarge all of LaPeer, MI, Kyle, Rob, Sian, Daniel and Angelina Yates all of Grayson;  two sisters Betty Estep of Bryon, MI and Shelby Gilbert of Grayson. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends who morn her passing yet rejoices in the life that she lived. She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints”.
