04/04/14 — John Wylie "Bud" Rodgers, 58, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born Sept.8, 1955, in Carter County, a son of the late John and Marie Watson Rodgers.
Bud was a retired construction worker and enjoyed riding horses, doing automotive and paint work, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his family, neighbors and friends.
Bud is survived by his wife of 19 years, Connie Buckler Rodgers; one son, John "Buddy" Rodgers and his girlfriend Paige Tackett of Olive Hill; five brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Sandra Rodgers of Catlettsburg, J. D. Rodgers of Cedartown, Ga., George Paul Rodgers of Wallingford, Russell "Pud" Rodgers of Olive Hill and Johnny Watson of Niles, Ohio; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rebecca Jane and Gene Dean of Unicoi, Tenn., and Marge Stinson of Newkirk, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Robbie Perry and his son, John "Buddy" Rodgers, officiating.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, and until the service hour Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
