04/08/13 — Mrs. Charlotte Binion Adkins, 82, of Sandy Hook, passed away Saturday evening, April 06, 2013, in UK Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel Holbrook Binion.
Charlotte was of the Protestant faith and was a bookkeeper for Lincoln-Mercury Garage in Ashland, the City of Ashland and Dalton Nursing Home in Ohio. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Autie Adkins, Jr.; one daughter, Cynthia Binion Newsome; and two brothers, Clayton Binion and Coleman Binion.
Charlotte is survived by one daughter, Lori Lynn Pazameta of Niantic, Conn.; four grandchildren, Charlotte Amanda Cullipher, Jack Joseph Miller, Jr., Kindra Lynn Miller and Kenneth Marshall Newsome III; three great grandchildren, Ashlyn Marie Cullipher, Brandon Thomas Cullipher and Serena Marie Korzen; one brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Doris Binion of Wake Forest, N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Iris and Jack Hall of Worthington; one sister-in-law, Alice Joy Binion of Grayson; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Elder J. D. Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, and until the service hour Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
