04/01/13 — Mr. Carl Boggs Jr., 84, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 30, 2013, in the Emma Jean Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Carter County, a son of the late Carl H. and Stella Knipp Boggs.
Carl was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova where he was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. He was a surveyor for the State of Kentucky and also worked as a foreman at Huntington Steel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer Boggs, Arnold Boggs and Orie Boggs, and two sisters, Virgie Sheppard and Jewel Sexton.
Carl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Adkins Boggs; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Kaye and Tony Arthur of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Toby Arthur, Jon Arthur and Bethany Grammer; and three great grandchildren, Reese Grammer, Sean Grammer and Zoey Grammer. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Terry Stamper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, and until the service hour Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Grandsons, family and friends will serve as pallbearers
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
