04-19-12 — Mr. Phil Hedge, 59, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 9, 2012, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born May 2, 1953, in Elliott County, a son of the late Walter and Ruby Hanshaw Hedge.
Phil attended Limestone Apostolic Church and was a truck driver for 43 years. He enjoyed sitting on his porch drinking coffee, but most of all he loved spending time with his son and grandchildren.
Phil is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patty Stone Hedge; one son, Phillip "Scott" Hedge and his significant other, Lance Stafford, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Stephen Isaiah Stafford-Hedge and Phillip Michael Stafford-Hedge; and one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Wanda Hedge of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Phillip "Scott" Hedge and Brother Rick Crank officiating. Burial will follow in the Hanshaw Cemetery in Olive Hill at a later date.
Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
