04/01/13 — Georgia McGuire, 91, of Grayson, died March 31, 2013, at the Carter County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born May 26, 1922, in Grayson, a daughter of the late Arthur and Hattie Craycraft Dean.
She was a retired teacher after 36 years in the Carter County School System. She was a member of the Iron Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan McGuire; three sisters, Inez Dean, Irene Ramey and Bertha Dean; and a brother, Everett Dean.
She is survived by three sons, James (Kimberley) McGuire of Ashland, Randy McGuire and Raymond (Jeanie) McGuire, both of Grayson; six grandsons, Robert (Ashley) McGuire of Meadville, Penn., Jimmy (Angie) McGuire of Grayson, Jason (Christi) McGuire of Lexington, Scott (Jenna) McGuire of Grayson, Travis McGuire of Grayson and Tyler McGuire of Ashland; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Tim Stamper, minister. Burial will follow at the Haney Cemetery at Sutton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
