3/24/14 — William Richard “Rick” Stephens, 53, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born Jan. 25, 1961, in Ashland, a son of the late William “Pete” and Toni Stephens.
Rick grew up in Napoleon, Ohio, and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1979. After high school, he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business from Davis Community College in Toledo, Ohio. He also attended Morehead State University from 1983 to 1985, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
Rick worked at Sally’s Flowers in Olive Hill and previously managed the Grayson and Morehead Pizza Hut restaurants for 15 years. He was of the Christian faith and devoted his life to his family and the betterment of others. He was a true friend to all animals and enjoyed music, going to the movies and spending time with his three dogs.
Rick is survived by one sister, Christy Brown and husband Gary of Olive Hill; one nephew, Gary “Cole” Brown of Olive Hill; one niece, Rona and Alphonzo Brown and their children, Zoe, Zya, Zion and Zayden, all of Lexington; and one aunt, Kimberly Patton and her husband Willie and their children, Jessi, Mark and Hollie Pritchard. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
ACelebration of Life service will be at1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street in Olive Hill.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the funeral home.
