01/18/13 — Mrs. Lucille Lowe Barker, 89, of Grahn, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 17, 2013, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland.
She was born Jan. 5, 1924, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Bailey B. and Ethel Bryant Lowe.
Lucille was of the Baptist faith and retired from Ashland Sales Incorporated where she worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed watching television, working puzzles and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Albert Barker; one son, Donald "Bo-Bo" Barker; two brothers, Jim Lowe and Chester Lowe; and one sister, Pearl Stevens.
Lucille is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Judy Barker of Grahn; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and J. D. Hackney of Morehead; three grandchildren, Jonathan Barker, Jason Barker and Joseph Barker; five great grandchildren, Jacob Barker, Evan Barker, Bailey Barker, Makalah Barker and Bradley Barker; one brother, Frank Lowe of Galion, Ohio; and two sisters, Ruby Carroll of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Lynn Gonzales of Mansfield, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Jimmy Barker and Brother Wade Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, and until the service hour Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Jonathan Barker, Jason Barker, Joseph Barker, Jacob Barker, David Lowe and Robert Roar will serve as pallbearers.
