9/9/13 — Raymond Fred Buck Jr. of Grayson went to be with his Lord Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, after a sudden illness. 

He was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Grayson, a son of Raymond and Catherine Hall Buck Sr. 

He was senior vice president of the Commercial Bank of Grayson serving as Director Emeritus starting in 1950 till retirement in 1995, a member of the Gregoryville Christian Holiness Church serving as superintendent and bible class teacher, an Air Force veteran, past president of Grayson Rotary, past president of Grayson Jaycees, past president of Grayson Chamber of Commerce, served as Carter County Red Cross representative, past president of Grayson Bowling League and Crusade chairman for the Carter County Chapter of American Cancer Society. He received the S.U. Pratt Award in 1979 and Keystone Award. He served on the board of directors for Project Merry Christmas, served on the community development board for the City of Grayson, served on Grayson Utility Commission, worked with senior citizens and the Board for Carter County Clinic. He was instrumental in getting this medical facility built. He was treasurer for District Cooperative Extension Council, FIVCO – Sub Area Health Council and a former member of Appalachian Foothills Housing Board. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sara Maude Clark Buck, in February 2013. 

He is survived by one son, Brian and wife Jessica Buck of Grayson; one granddaughter, Brianna Grayce Elam and her husband Tyler of Morehead; two sisters, Patricia and husband Elwood Fankell of Grayson and Karen and husband Ken Carpenter of Grayson; two brothers, Clifford and wife Janet Buck and James and wife Joyce Buck, both of Grayson; his in-laws, Jim and wife Diane Clark of Grayson, Wayne and wife Mary Clark of Gregoryville, Phillip and wife Sharrion LeMaster of Grayson and Virginia Clark of Grayson and her husband the late George Clark Jr.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ in Grayson by Mike Harper, Lewis Davis and Fella Wilson. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Burial Park. 

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ in Grayson. 

The Buck Family would appreciate that in lieu of flowers donations on his behalf be made to a wonderful organization that he thought so much of. Their address is Meals on Wheels, 302 East Main Street, Grayson, KY 41143.
