12/20/13 — Patricia Gayle Smith, 50, of Isonville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at her home.
Gayle was born Dec. 30, 1962, in Ashland, the daughter of JC and Lorna Boggs Griffith of Webbville.
She gave her life to the Lord on July 29, 1983, and was of the Baptist faith. She was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was director at the Elliott County Heritage and Cultural Center.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Mark Smith; four children, Chauncy and wife Brittany Griffith of Sandy Hook, Chaston Carroll of Isonville, Nick Smith of Isonville and Chuck and wife Amy Prince of Olympia; and six grandchildren, Bryce Griffith, Abagayle Griffith, Aiden Griffith, Kandace Smith, Jadia Smith and Alexis Armstrong. Also, she is survived by seven brothers and sisters, James Clayton Griffith of Webbville, Ricky Stephens of Olive Hill, Billy Stephens of Grayson, Lisa Jackson and Tresa Rice, both of Grayson, Wanda Oney of Willard and Linda Strickland of Ashland.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Upper Bruin Enterprise Baptist Church with Brother Ennis Lewis Jr., Brother Leo Ison, and Brother Henry Sturgill Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
