03/26/13 — Mrs. Nora Skaggs DeBord, 87, of Wilmington, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Friday evening, March 22, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Sandy Hook, a daughter of the late Everett Wilson and Elizabeth Goodman Skaggs.
Nora was a member of the Shiloh United Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary DeBord; one son-in-law, Ronald Gregory; one grandson, Steve Gregory; one brother, Charles Richard Skaggs; and five sisters, Ruth Moore, Bertha Fouts, Mona Smith, Mary Cox and Ellen Barker.
Nora is survived by her husband of 67 years, Elder Eual DeBord; one son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Brenda DeBord of Jamestown, Ohio; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Phyllis Gregory of Jamestown, Sherry and Gary Gregory of Jamestown, Rita DeBord of Wilmington and Lorene and Dan Thompson of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Marjorie Skaggs of Olive Hill; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Ezel and Cleo Moore of Olive Hill, Eva and Herman Fannin of Sandy Hook, Jean and Bobby Music of Mansfield, Ohio, Wilma and Jesse Stegall of Sandy Hook and Shirley and Junior Lewis of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Elder Denver Caudill and Elder Freddie Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the DeBord Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, and until the service hour Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
