01/13/14 — Edith Branham Greenhill, 95, of Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, Jan. 10, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Barker Branham.
Edith was a Christian and attended the Mountain Top Chapel. She was a homemaker and loved people, visiting, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Greenhill; two sons, Tommy Greenhill and Robert "Bob" Greenhill; three brothers, Morton Ray Branham, Henry Thomas Branham and John C. Branham; and six sisters, Edna Branham, Bess Gilliam, Minnie Mae Sparks, Irene Boggs, Grace Kiser and Nettie Maddix.
Edith is survived by four grandsons, Roger Greenhill and his wife Verlina, Thomas Ray Greenhill Jr. and his wife Mary, Billy Lee Greenhill and Oscar Allen Greenhill; one granddaughter, Connie Jo Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Judy Mae Mays, Robert Dale Greenhill, Andrew William Greenhill, Stacy Jo Griffith, Billy Ray Valandingham, Kegen Greenhill and Jesse Greenhill; and four great-great-grandchildren, Leah Mays, Jacob Mays, Cara Mays and Noah Mays. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Earsel Barker and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the McFerrin Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, and until the service hour Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
