12/31/13 — James Arthur Kiser, 38, of Canoe Run in Grayson, passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born April 20, 1975, in Boyd County, a son of the late Thomas Arthur and Reba Alice Knipp Kiser.
James was of the Baptist faith and worked in telecommunications. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and watching football.
James is survived by one daughter, Jacie Kiser of Olive Hill; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Tommy and Amy Kiser, Carlos and Barb Kiser and Greg Knipp, all of Olive Hill; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Bearl and Mike Blevins of Grayson, Kim and Allen Stevens of Olive Hill, Cindy and Tony Harris of Grayson, Regina and Shawn Murphy of Roanoke, Va., and Connie Valandingham of Mt. Sterling; and 21 nieces and nephews, Karley Kiser, Allison Stevens, Tristan Blevins, Faith Blevins, Sean Harris, Trista Harris, Rayahna Kiser, Randy Stevens, Kloee Stevens, Gracie Kiser, Cody Knipp, Andrea Knipp, Emily Murphy, Landon Murphy, Witlee Murphy, Austin Wagoner, David Smith, Tommy Valandingham, Amanda Adkins, Melissa Adkins and Michael Valandingham. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother John Paul Skaggs and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Kiser Cemetery on Kiser Branch in Grahn.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, and until the service hour Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.
Bruce Layne, Shannon Whisman, Shawn Carroll, Travis McCleese, Matthew Gilliam, Mikey Oppenheimer, Lester Bailey, Chad Carroll and Jake P’Simer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
