04/17/13 — Joseph Edward “Joe” Ellenberg, 74, of Kamiah, Idaho, passed away Saturday, April 6, at home following a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
Mr. Ellenberg was born July 20, 1938, in Rush, to Millard and Mabel Ellenberg. He was married to C. Louise Nichols. He joined the military at the age of 17 and served two years at the Nevada nuclear test site.
Joe is survived by brothers and sisters, Roy Ellenberg, Bob (Ann) Ellenberg, Carolyn (Junior) Poling, Helen (Teddy) Thornberry, Harold (Carolyn) Ellenberg; and one other sister-in-law, Donna Ellenberg. He and Louise had five children, Clara Ellenberg, Barbara McFeron, Billy Ellenberg, Bonnie Roll and Mabel Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Mabel; two sisters, Vivian Ellenberg and Bessie Alice Hall; and his brother, Verlin “Ray” Ellenberg.
He loved horse packing, hunting, farming, mechanics and his grandchildren.
His ashes were spread near his favorite hunting ground in Selway Falls, Idaho, on April 13.
