Carter County Grand Jury handed down indictments against 21 individuals with a total of 51 counts on February 19, 2007.

Eight of those indicted, including an 81-year-old man, are charged with drug-related counts. Also, a 23-year-old woman was indicted (among other drug charges) for first-degree wanton endangerment by wantonly endangering the life of her unborn child by using illegal drugs.

Ten indicted have some form of theft-related charges against them including counts of exploitation of an adult and theft of identity.

Three men were indicted on charges of rape and 1st degree sexual assault against minors.

Drug-related indictments include:

• Paul Tussey, 81, of Little Huff Run in Grayson was indicted on seven counts. (1) trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree – a Schedule II controlled substance and previously convicted of same offense, (2) trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree – a Schedule III controlled substance and previously convicted of same offense (3) trafficking in a controlled substance, third degree – a Schedule IV controlled substance and previously convicted of same offense, (4) trafficking in marijuana – less than eight ounces, (5) possession of drug paraphernalia, (6) possessing a handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony, (7) bribery of a public servant by offering money to a police officer to influence him not to prosecute and search defendant’s home.

• Joshua G. Perry, 23, of Frazier Road in Olive Hill was indicted on one count of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by selling Oxycodone.

• Tammy P. Oney, 38, of Olive Hill was indicted on four counts. (1) trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree – cocaine, (2) trafficking in marijuana – more than eight ounces, (3) possession of drug paraphernalia, (4) tampering with physical evidence when she concealed cocaine which she believed would be used as evidence against her.

• Ben Reyes, 33, of Bowen Street in Grayson was indicted on four counts. (1) trafficking in a controlled substance in first-degree – oxycodone, (2) possession of marijuana, (3) possession of drug paraphernalia, (4) first degree of possession of a controlled substance – cocaine.

• Brandy Lorenz, 23, of Bowen Street in Grayson was indicted on five counts. (1) trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree – oxycodone, (2) possession of marijuana, (3) possession of drug paraphernalia , (4) first degree possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, (5) first degree wanton endangerment by wantonly endangering the life of her unborn child by using illegal drugs.

• Larry Allen Stone, 59, of Cooper Street in Olive Hill was indicted on one count of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree – oxycodone – a Schedule II controlled substance.

• James D. Money, 30, of Carol Malone Blvd. in Grayson was indicted on four counts. (1) speeding by exceeding the speed limit by 75 miles per hour in a 65 zone, (2) possession of marijuana, (3) operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended as a result of his conviction for a violation of KRS 189A.010, third offense, having been previously convicted of the same offense twice within the past five years. (4) possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Debra Tussey, 43, of Little Huff Run in Grayson was indicted on five counts. (1) trafficking in a controlled substance in the 1st degree, 1st offense, a Schedule II controlled substance, (2) trafficking in a controlled substance, 2nd degree, 1st offense – a Schedule II controlled substance, (3) trafficking in a controlled substance, 3rd degree, 1st offense by possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance, (4) trafficking in marijuana – less than eight ounces, (5) possession of drug paraphernalia.

Indictments dealing with theft/burglary issues include:

• Phillip J. McDavid, 30, of State Highway 1496, Grayson, was indicted on two counts. (1) second degree burglary by unlawfully entering the dwelling house of James F. Carter, (2) receiving stolen property by having in his possession property of a value more than $300 which had been stolen from the Carter residence.

• Jason Ruth, 31, of U.S. 60 in Grayson was indicted on two counts. (1) second-degree burglary by unlawfully entering the dwelling house of James F. Carter, (2) receiving stolen property by having in his possession property of a value of more than $300 that had been stolen from James F. Carter.

• Taylor M. Jones, 26, of Bath Ave in Ashland was indicted on two counts. (1) 1st degree criminal possession of a forged instrument when she possessed a forged check in the amount of $346.96 drawn on State Street Bank and Trust, (2) 1st degree criminal possession of a forged instrument when she possessed a forged check in the amount of $384.97 drawn on State Street Bank and Trust.

• Ryan P. Jones, 23, of Bath Av in Ashland was indicted on two counts. (1) 1st degree criminal possession of a forged instrument when she possessed a forged check in the amount of $239.97 drawn on Citibank, Delaware, (2) 1st degree criminal possession of a forged instrument when she possessed a forged check in the amount of $415.33 on Citibank, Delaware.

• Dena (Denna) Taylor, 38, of Ray Drive in Ashland was indicted on one count of theft by taking money in the amount of $1,800 that belonged to Michael Fox.

• Angela Buckler, 26, of Gateway Shelter Home in Morehead was indicted on one count of exploitation of an adult resulting in a loss to the adult of more than $300 by knowingly misusing credit cards belonging to Leroy Patrick and by knowingly taking money from Leroy Patrick.

• Burl C. Jordan, 62, of Lewis Street in Middletown, Ohio was indicted on two counts. (1) exploitation of an adult resulting in a loss to the adult of more than $300 by knowingly taking money and property belonging to Burl Jordan, (2) theft of identity by signing the name of Burl Jordan, his father, to a deed transferring property of Burl Jordan to Burl C. Jordan.

• Garnett E. Ratliff, 25, of Stinson Creek in Grayson was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property by receiving and possessing a Beretta firearm worth more than $300 and belonging to Randy Felty, knowing it was stolen.

• Peggy Lee Brooks, 58, of 2841 Florence in Huntington, WV was indicted on two counts. (1) fraudulent use of a credit card when he obtained goods with a credit card belonging to Carol Fisher with intent to defraud her, (2) theft of identity by signing the name of Carol Fisher in order to obtain goods without consent of Carol Fisher.

• Bryan K. Rice, 33, of Carol Malone Blvd in Grayson was indicted on two counts. (1) second-degree burglary by unlawfully entering the dwelling house of James F. Carter, (2) receiving stolen property by having in his possession property of a value of more than $300 that had been stolen from James F. Carter.

Indictments involving minors and sex abuse include:

• George Gilbert, 20, of Scott Street in Olive Hill was indicted on one count of second-degree rape by having sexual intercourse with a female less than 14 years old.

• Andy Castle, 24, of Collingwood Avenue in Franklin Furnace, Ohio was indicted on one count of third degree rape by having sexual intercourse with a female less than 16 years of age, the defendant then being more than 21 years of age.

• James Griffith, age unknown, of Horton Flats in Olive Hill was indicted on one count of first-degree sexual abuse by subjecting an individual to sexual contact through the use of forcible compulsion.
