The second harassment suit was settled Aug. 3 for a former East Carter High School student.

Lindsey Savage has reached a settlement with the Carter County Board of Education, former ECHS Principal Ada Steele and Jerry Perkins, a former assistant principal.

The agreed judgment was in the amount of $2,500 and in favor of Savage against defendant Clayton James, a former ECHS school resource officer.

Her prior suit Feb. 23, resolved her claims against the Grayson Police Department and former chief, Keith Hill and the Scottsdale Insurance Company. In that agreement Savage received $5,750.

Both settlements were the outcomes of allegations Savage made in 2007, while attending ECHS, that James sent her inappropriate e-mails between June and October 2006. She also claimed he in numerous occasions try to persuade her to have sex with him.

Also in the accusations, Savage said James became a stalker while frequently driving by her home.

James was arrested in 2007 by Kentucky State Police and charged with official misconduct. He pleaded guilty and served home confinement.
