Grayson, Olive Hill Little League all-stars set to hit the field

June 25, 2014 — The month of July is upon us but before we turn our calendars, the little league all-star season is set to begin this Friday.

The Grayson 9-10 all-star team is set to begin play in the District 6 Area 1 tournament Friday in Flemingsburg. Grayson joins Fleming County, Lewis County and Morehead.

The championship is set for Tuesday, July 1 and a possible rematch the next night. The Grayson all-stars are set to face Lewis County at 5 p.m. with Fleming County taking on Morehead at 7 p.m.

Olive Hill and Grayson will take part in the District 6 Area 1 11-12-year-old tournament at the Morehead City Park. The two Carter County all-star teams join Morehead, Lewis County and Fleming County in the five-team tournament to crown a champion.

Olive Hill kicks off the tournament Friday at 5 p.m. when they face Lewis County. The winner of that game will go on to face Fleming County on Saturday at 7 p.m. Grayson will face the Morehead all-stars at 7 p.m. Friday. A champion could be crowned July 2.

For some, Little League all-star season is in full swing. Ashland American defeated South Shore in the District 6 9-and 10-year old softball championship last weekend to earn a spot in the state tournament in Owensboro.
