Sept. 11, 2013 — 1. Fairview

2. Ashland

3. Raceland

4. Lawrence County

5. Mason County

6. Russell

7. Lewis County

8. Morgan County

After a brief hiatus, the Bates Crazy 8’s return with a newcomer to the list.

The Lawrence County Bulldogs, while they are many miles away, come all the way in at No. 4 after an impressive few weeks. With victories over Boyd and Rowan counties, the Bulldogs had a good showing hosting Fairview before falling 35-21.

Fairview is proving they are the best team in the area with 24-straight regular season victories. Ashland jumped over Raceland after the heart-stopping overtime victory over the Rams 11 days ago. Raceland is holding strong in the top three after bouncing back against Boyd County on Saturday.

Mason is fifth after two victories (also against Boyd and Rowan).

Big games are on tap this week, including a top eight matchup between the Tomcats and Red Devils. To quote a good friend of mine, “When these two teams meet, you can throw out all the record books.”
