Sept. 4, 2013 — Comet Volleyball splits two matches

The West Carter volleyball team had a .500 week, defeating Rose Hill Christian 3-0 (25-19, 25-23-25-15) but fell to Fairview 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-16). With their week, The Lady Comets are 3-6. West faced Raceland on the road Tuesday and will travel to rival East Carter Thursday.

Raider Volleyball downs Lawrence County

The East Carter volleyball team made the long journey to Louisa this past Thursday and came away with a signature victory over Lawrence County 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-17). With the victory, East Carter improves to 3-3 on the 2013 season. The Lady Raiders will host Fleming County in a makeup game on Wednesday before welcoming West Carter to Grayson.

Lady Comet Soccer game vs. East Carter called for darkness

On Thursday, the West Carter girls soccer team hosted East Carter in a 62nd District matchup. However, because the game was played late the game was called due to darkness. At the point of the game being called, the Lady Raiders were leading 9-0 in the second half. The game will be continued at a later date with being a district matchup. On Tuesday West Carter hosted Rowan County. They play Menifee County on Thursday and again on Saturday in Frenchburg in the 16th Region All “A” Tournament. East Carter traveled to South Point on Tuesday. They host East Carter on Thursday and travel to Madison Southern on Saturday.
